Thanks, for popping in to my little fragment of the internet. My name is Greg. If it is your first time here, you may be asking yourself "what in the name of Zeus is this?"

Its a fair question. Unfortunately it is not one that I have yet answered.

But I can say this. It is a website connected to a series of blogs that represent an erratic attempt by a humble individual to make things a little better in the odd nook and occasional cranny.

My abiding principle is that I cannot change the world, but I can at least help one little tiny part of it. And so can you.

I can tell you that I started this blog so that I could share my first trip to Africa with a few friends. I think that this occurred to me because I became terrified of venturing into the unknown alone and I wanted to remain connected with home. I also wanted to record my experiences in real time for my own benefit.

One night while researching my trip to Ghana on my desktop computer, I looked over at my laptop and had an epiphany. I could fill my laptop with educational materials and donate it to a school! The idea was to give a little back while on the road, a small expression of gratitude.

So I posted this at a Ghana based forum. I was astonished at the result of my little post and what it led to. Accidentally, I had started something. Now that little something is being supported by people from all over, and our little group is doing something that will last.

Along the way, a few people said that they liked my writing, and a few said they didn't.

After travelling to Ghana, I got the bug, Next I went to Southeast Asia, followed by a cruise to Central America. 

All the while, I kept blogging, shooting my mouth off, even if I didn't have much to say.

Warts and all, I have left every post intact, even the lame and self indulgent ones.

However flawed, this site is my truth and I refuse to apologize for the numerous imperfections.
